“Cognition in elite sport”

Abstract: Neuropsychological research typically focuses on deficient cognitive processes in clinical populations, but it is also interesting to study better-than-normal function. This can be found in individuals who have developed extraordinary expertise in a particular field, for example in relation to sports such as football or chess. The talk will give an overview of this research field and discuss implications for both cognitive and neuroscientific research.
