“Understanding mechanisms and treatment of neuropathic pain”
Abstract:Neuropathic pain is pain caused by a lesion or disease of the somatosensory system and is seen e.g. following stroke, spinal cord injury, neuropathy, and nerve lesions. We use different electrophysiological and molecular studies and stratified clinical trials to try to understand why some patients develop pain and others do not and to improve mechanism-based treatments.
