Title: Human iPSC-derived brain cells in neuroscience drug discovery: from disease mechanisms to compound screening

Abstract: In this talk, I will discuss our general thinking at Lundbeck on why, where and how we apply human iPSC-derived brain cells in the drug discovery process. I will cover how these models can help connect human disease biology with target validation, mechanistic understanding, and compound profiling. I will also present data from a pilot small-molecule screen aimed at identifying compounds that regulate STMN2 RNA splicing in the context of TDP-43 pathology and share examples of ongoing projects using our in-house generated iPSC-derived microglia.
