I am a PhD student at the Institute of Neuroscience with a Master's degree in Biochemistry from the University of Copenhagen. My research focuses on the structure and function interplay for human neurotransmitter:sodium symporters along with their bacterial homologs. I study the conformational dynamics utilizing state of the art methodologies, including Transition Metal-ion Förster Resonance Energy Transfer (tmFRET) on LeuT, as well as incorporation of the fluorescent unnatural amino acid, L-ANAP, into the human serotonin transporter.
