Research project on novel pain treatment supported with DKK 1.5 mio. by Innovation Fund Denmark
The program InnoExplorer is developed by the Innovation Fund Denmark in collaboration with the Danish universities. This new program aims to increase knowledge-based entrepreneurship by supporting research results and technologies developed at public research and educational institutions as well as hospitals. The Innovation Fund Denmark has selected 13 innovative project, which have a particularly high innovation excellence and which have clearly stated how their product varies from what is already on the market. One of the selected projects is from Department of Neuroscience and is run by Andreas Toft Sørensen, Kenneth Lindegaard Madsen and Ulrik Gether.
The research project is based on promising pre-clinical data on two novel treatment approaches for an unconventional target that enables a mechanism-based treatment of neuropathic pain.
Beside the grant from Innovation Fund Denmark, the project is furthermore supported by DKK 3.5 mio. by Novo Nordisk Pre-seed granted in early 2019.
